Alright, we’re finally here—the number one track from Squid Game Season 2!
If you’ve been following along, you probably already know what it is…
Fly Me to the Moon (Fast Version)
This track completely caught me off guard when I first heard it in Episode 3 during the “Red Light, Green Light” game. We all know Fly Me to the Moon as a slow, jazzy, romantic song—but nope, not this time. Instead, we get this fast, intense, almost chaotic version that somehow feels both exciting and terrifying at the same time. And with that wild scene of T.O.P (aka “Thanos”) pushing someone mid-game, it became an instant classic.
Why This Version Stands Out
The Contrast – The original Fly Me to the Moon is smooth and dreamy, but this one is fast, jumpy, and almost unhinged. It creates this eerie contrast that makes the scene even more intense.
The Energy – Let’s be real, this song gets your heart racing, whether you’re watching the scene or just listening to it on its own.
SO……Can You Play It on Guitar?
Now, here’s the real challenge—can we actually play this version on guitar? Well… let’s just say it’s not easy. 😂
The tempo is ridiculously fast, so even keeping up with it is already tough.
The rhythm isn’t super regular, making it even trickier to play accurately.
Even when I tried transcribing it, I couldn’t capture every single detail 100%—but I did my best! So if you check out the tab, just know that it’s a pretty close version, but there’s always room for interpretation.
🎸 Challenge: If you’re up for it, give it a shot! And if you manage to play it at full speed, you have my deepest respect! 🫡
Things to Watch Out For
Difficulty Level: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Song: Fly Me To The Moon (Fast Version)
BPM: 175
If you’re giving this a try, here are some key things to keep in mind:
Speed
As mentioned earlier, speed is the biggest obstacle here.
Start slow, then gradually increase the tempo as you get more comfortable.
One tip: try singing the song! It helps with timing, rhythm, and overall familiarity.
Left Hand Position
For 90% of the piece, your left hand (LH) stays between the 1st and 5th frets.
Only towards the end (bar 35 onwards), you’ll need to shift up to the 7th-10th fret.
Empty Bars
Seeing empty bars might make the score seem easier, but don’t let that fool you!
You’ll need extra focus to count the beats properly, especially if you’re not familiar with the song.
Make sure you don’t accidentally skip a bar or two!
Time Signature Switch
The piece starts in 4/4 time, like a regular song.
However, at bar 22, it switches to 3/4 time, then goes back to 4/4 time after one bar.
So when counting, remember to reduce one beat at bar 22!
