Part 2
Accompaniment 2
Capo on the 3rd fret. They are like chords, but instead of strumming, play each note of the chord separately and quickly. For example, in bar 9, hold a C chord shape and play the 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st strings twice. Then switch to an Am chord shape and play the same pattern again.
Since semiquavers (sixteenth notes) are used here, this part is pretty fast. Start by playing it slowly with a metronome, then gradually increase the speed.
If you're not familiar with the chords, learn the strumming part first. Once you know the chords well, this part will be much easier to master.
Strumming
Capo on the 3rd fret, common open chords are used, plus an F chord. The strumming pattern follows the drum beat of the song.
This part is quite easy because the drum beat is clear, and the tempo is not too fast. The only tricky part is the F chord. Many people struggle with barre chords. It's okay if you can't play a barre chord perfectly. But I would suggest you to stick with playing the full F chord even if there is buzzing sound. If it hurts your fingers too much, switch to a half-grip F chord.
Practice Tips
Practise Slowly: To ensure each note is connected smoothly in a legato manner, hold the fret as long as possible before switching to another note.
Use a Metronome: A lot of people don’t realize the power of using metronome, but it can help you develop a solid timing and good rhythmic sense. Start with a slower bpm then gradually increase to match the original speed.
Chord Transitions: Practise chord switching from one to another, and always remember to change chords slightly in advance to ensure a smooth transition.
Barre Chord: F chord is used here, which involves barre chord. Place your index finger close to the fret wire, and position your thumb behind your index finger to provide support.
